Hybrid Hoffman Kiln

Hybrid Hoffman Kiln

Overview

Next Engineering Solutions Ltd provides complete Hybrid Hoffman Kiln (HHK) based clay brick manufacturing plants, designed for high efficiency, continuous production, and superior brick quality.

Hybrid Hoffman Kiln technology combines internal fuel combustion, waste heat recovery, and continuous firing system, making it one of the most advanced and energy-efficient brick production technologies in Bangladesh and international markets.

Technology & Working Principle

The Hybrid Hoffman Kiln operates as a continuous moving fire kiln, where the firing zone shifts gradually across multiple chambers arranged in an annular circuit.

  • Green bricks are produced by mixing pulverized coal with clay, enabling internal combustion
  • Heat from the firing zone is reused for preheating and drying, significantly improving energy efficiency
  • The kiln maintains firing temperature around 950°C – 1050°C for proper vitrification
  • Forced draft airflow system ensures controlled combustion and uniform firing
  • Continuous operation allows non-stop production cycle

Key Technical Features

  • Continuous chamber system (18–26+ chambers depending on design)
  • Internal fuel combustion system (70–80% fuel inside bricks)
  • Waste heat recovery integrated with drying system
  • Forced draft air circulation with blower system
  • Permanent insulated kiln structure
  • Compatible with manual, semi-auto, and full automatic production lines
  • Production capacity: 10 million – 50+ million bricks/year

Advantages of Hybrid Hoffman Kiln

  • High fuel efficiency (up to ~50% better than traditional kilns)
  • Uniform brick quality (color, strength, durability)
  • Continuous 24/7 operation
  • Lower emission and environmentally friendly
  • Reduced production cost per brick
  • Flexible fuel options (coal, biomass, mixed fuel)
  • Long service life and stable performance

Land Requirement

Land requirements vary based on plant size and automation:

  • Medium Plant (Designed Capacity 50K/Day) : 4 – 5 acres
  • Large Industrial Plant (Designed Capacity 100K/Day) : 7 – 8 acres

Includes:

  • Raw material yard
  • Production & forming section
  • Drying area (small tunnel dryer)
  • Hoffman kiln structure
  • Finished goods storage
  • Roads & utilities

🔄 Brick Manufacturing Process Flow

1. Clay Excavation & Storage

Clay is collected from selected sources and stored for weathering to improve quality and workability.

2. Crushing & Screening

Clay is crushed and screened to remove impurities and ensure uniform particle size.

3. Mixing with Internal Fuel

Clay is mixed with pulverized coal for internal combustion and better fuel efficiency.

4. Extrusion & Brick Forming

Vacuum extruder shapes the clay into dense and uniform green brick columns.

5. Cutting & Shaping

Automatic cutters slice the column into uniform bricks with precise dimensions.

6. Drying (Natural / Tunnel Dryer)

Bricks are dried using air or controlled heat to remove moisture and prevent cracks.

7. Loading into Kiln Chambers

Dried bricks are stacked in kiln chambers ensuring proper airflow and heat distribution.

8. Preheating → Firing → Cooling

Bricks are gradually heated, fired at high temperature, then cooled for strength and durability.

9. Unloading & Sorting

Finished bricks are unloaded and sorted based on quality and appearance.

10. Storage & Delivery

Bricks are stored safely and prepared for transport to customers or project sites.
